Obon Sushi & Grill
Proper sashimi-grade sushi, plus a table-top grill where you cook your own beef and pork.
Obon takes its name from the Japanese word for “tray”. It started in Kingston in 2015, and the Teddington branch leans towards sushi and the grill. The head chef is also a director, and the fish rule is strict: only certified sashimi-grade fish for the sushi and sashimi.
Alongside the nigiri, maki, tempura and skewers, the newer BBQ menu is the fun part. You can grill beef and pork yourself at the table, or let the kitchen do it. If you’d rather eat at home, there’s a takeaway menu you can order direct or through Deliveroo.
